Yes! Earths Rotation does increase in terms of its speed. If You think about centrifugal force, and the fact that Earth rotates in an elipse, it becomes clear that Earth is farther from the sun as it makes its way around our parent star. In other words, when Earth is nearer the sun, it travels faster because the Suns gravitational pull on the Earth is stronger. Also, when Earth is farther, it travels slower.
